What Are Mobile Payment Apps? An Explanation Everywhere you go these days it seems like no one is using cash anymore. Even at the old faithful places like flea markets, festivals, and yard sales, people are using mobile payment apps. But what are they, how do they work, and how safe are they?
Many in my generation ("Boomers") are not very eager to adopt new technology. That's what this site is all about. Let's look at pay with your phone services. What it is, how it works, and is it safe. This article will not include apps that let you order and pay for products, such as Chick Fil A, Amazon, McDonalds, etc. I'll hit those in a later article. Today I'm talking about using your phone to pay in store for purchases.
WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) is a technology that allows devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets to connect to the internet wirelessly. If you've ever used your laptop to access the internet at a coffee shop, or your smartphone to check your email while on the go, you've likely used WiFi. WiFi is often confused with the internet itself. Later in this article I will attempt to explain the difference.
